Samson, Chahal Make Comeback; Rinku Excluded from T20..

World Cup Squad India has announced its squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the USA, marking the return of Shivam Dube and Yuzvendra Chahal. Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant have been included as the designated wicketkeepers in the preliminary squad revealed by BCCI on April 30.

Pant, who recently resumed playing after recovering from a car accident in late 2022, has showcased commendable form in the IPL, accumulating 251 runs in 11 matches with a strike rate of 158.57.

Conversely, Rinku Singh, recognized for his finishing prowess, has failed to secure a spot in the 15-player squad but has been listed among the traveling reserves alongside Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed. Despite an impressive T20I debut last August, Singh has struggled in the current IPL season, managing only 123 runs in 9 innings for KKR.The squad, led by Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya serving as vice-captain, comprises a blend of seasoned campaigners and emerging talents such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav.Shivam Dube, who has exhibited improved performance against pace in the IPL, earning 350 runs in nine games at a strike rate of 172.41, replaces Rinku Singh.

Chahal, with a notable IPL performance of 13 wickets in 9 innings, has made a comeback to the national side after a hiatus across formats.Sanju Samson's consistent displays in the IPL have also earned him a berth in the squad, bolstering the batting lineup.

The spin contingent includes Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Chahal, while the pace attack features Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh.

The team is scheduled to commence its campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York, followed by matches against Pakistan, USA, and Canada.
